Never did I think growing up in a small town in California, that later in my life, I would become a crusader for Health and Justice. But, I did.
The tragedies and misfortunes I have suffered would destroy or reduce many.
It is true those that have been harmed often fall or fail, but it is also true they can rise from the ashes to show themselves and world that it is possible to carry on.
I have been married to the love of my life for 17 years, had a meaningful career, and until one day in 2007, had a normal life. Never did I dream I would lose my health and my regular life due to a surgical tragedy and medical negligence.
Since that fateful day, many years ago, I placed a lot of my focus on my ongoing health problems and the medical wrong that was done. I was often living with a lot of negativity and was getting increasingly frustrated and depressed.
Recently I made the decision to commit myself to helping people overcome or at least live with similar Ostomy/medical situations. My focus and voice allows me to take what has happened and channel my energy into bringing AWARENESS to these conditions and struggles that many of us have. The use of social media allows me a strong voice for our cause.
There is no doubt in my mind that you, too, can persevere in the face of great adversity and loss.I look forward to sharing my journey with you and, together, we will find new strength, insight, and awareness as we struggle on and never ever give up that's called GRIT better known as COURAGE!
